Investing in the Future

To make sure a lifting project is safe and successful you need the right equipment to be in the right place at the right time. Here at Wilkerson Crane Rental, we understand that! Which is why we are excited to announce our newest cranes. We’ve added a Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 (230 Ton) Mobile Hydraulic All-Terrain Crane and a Link-Belt TCC-2500 (250 Ton) Telescopic Crawler Crane to our fleet. We know that investing in the future is the key to success and we’re excited for the new opportunities these cranes bring us and our customers! Jeff Holt gives us a bit of insight into why Wilkerson Crane Rental decided to add these pieces of equipment to their fleet.

Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 (230 Ton) Mobile Hydraulic All-Terrain Crane

Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 (230 Ton) Mobile Hydraulic All-Terrain Crane

Why did Wilkerson decide to invest in this crane?
The 1200-5.1 comes equipped with 235’ of main boom, where our other cranes require additional pieces of jib section to reach as high as this one can. It also fills a gap in our equipment offering between our 200 Ton Crane and our 350 Ton Cranes.

What sets this crane apart? What can it do that others can’t?
Wilkerson has set itself apart from the competition by being able to mobilize In and Out of a jobsite in less time. This crane will allow us to reach higher without the need for additional supplemental fall off loads.

Does this crane feature technology that others don’t?
This crane is equipped with Variobase which allows the crane’s outriggers to set up at variable lengths and still provides an accurate load chart based on the outrigger configuration. Older model cranes will only allow you 50% or 100% outrigger placement.

Are there any types of lifts that it is especially good for?
The Variobase will allow us to get into tighter, more congested work sites, and still be able to utilize a custom chart based on the full outrigger configuration. This will allow us to get closer to the pick, and maximize the cranes lifting capacities.

When will it be available?
This Crane arrived in Kansas City on February 8th and is already hard at work.

Link-Belt TCC- 2500 (250 Ton) Telescopic Crawler Crane

Link-Belt TCC- 2500 (250 Ton) Telescopic Crawler Crane

Why did Wilkerson decide to invest in this crane?
The 2500 Telecrawer assembles in a very efficient manner. This crane can be fully assembled within 1.5 hours of arriving on the job site.

What sets this crane apart? What can it do that others can’t?
The Telecrawler crane allows us the ability to lift, and crawl with a load as well as adjust the boom length as needed to navigate smaller, congested job sites.

Does this crane feature technology that others don’t?
Traditional Lattice Boom Crawler Cranes have fixed boom lengths that cannot adjust to changing job site conditions and the evolution of a job site. As well, traditional crawler cranes require 200-300+ of flat space to assemble the boom and jib sections on the ground. Because this type of crane has a hydraulic boom, it does not require the job site space for assembly, disassembly and transport.

Are there any types of lifts that it is especially good for?
The Kansas City, and Midwest Construction market have seen a spike in Precast, Tilt-up and other concrete modular construction projects. This crane is a perfect match for these types of jobs where ground conditions are inadequate for a Truck Crane, or the timeline doesn’t allow for a week to assembly or disassembly that a traditional crawler crane would require.

When will it be available?
This crane is currently dedicated to a long-time customer and will become available in early Summer 2019.
