The Walmart Distribution Center required significant facility upgrades, including the installation of large-scale equipment and materials in hard-to-reach areas. The jobsite presented several challenges: limited setup space, ongoing daily operations, and the need for precise placement without interfering with logistics.
Conventional crane configurations lacked the flexibility and reach to navigate the site’s constraints efficiently. The client needed a lifting solution that could offer tower crane precision with the mobility of a truck-mounted rig—without introducing scheduling delays or unnecessary risk to active work zones.

.The Solution
Wilkerson selected the Liebherr MK 140-5.1, a five-axle mobile tower crane purpose-built for demanding logistics environments. Its compact all-terrain chassis allowed for quick deployment, while its 213-foot reach and trolley-mode operation provided pinpoint accuracy in equipment and material placement.
With minimal setup requirements and the ability to rotate and retract as needed, the MK 140-5.1 adapted effortlessly to the active distribution site. This flexibility enabled crews to complete lifts around ongoing operations, supporting the upgrade project without interfering with deliveries, schedules, or warehouse flow.
